Isabelle Boyd CBE
Without Mrs Boyd's vision, drive and enthusiasm it would be doubtful if the school would have achieved such success. Throughout, Mrs Boyd has been committed to ensuring the best for every pupil and this has been underpinned by her faith and by putting Gospel values into action everyday. The CBE endorses the HMIe's findings that, "The headteacher provided outstanding leadership for the school community. She was
very successful at sharing her vision for the school and engaging staff in delivering it.

Congratulations to Isabelle Boyd, Head Teacher of Cardinal Newman HS who was awarded a CBE in the New Year Honours list for services to education.
We are certainly honoured to have a CBE as our Head. The honour reflects well on the school, and the work carried out here, but we would have to acknowledge the outstanding contribution Mrs Boyd has made to education over the past 30 years and in particular the past 6 years as Head-teacher in our school.
Many changes have taken place in Cardinal Newman over these last 6 years;
1. First School of Ambition in North Lanarkshire and one of the first 20 such schools in Scotland
2. Enhanced Enterprise Comprehensive status awarded by NLC
3. A fully equipped training kitchen and restaurant opened and successful in winning 3 national awards
4. Improved attendance, behaviour, achievement and attainment levels
5. Charter Mark Award
6. Increased levels of participation and leadership at all levels across the school as recognised by HMIe
